Audible amin and raising the hands: the disagreement is only about what is preferable

Question

Until now we used to hear from some religious scholars regarding disputed issues — such as recitation behind the imam (qira’a khalf al-imam), raising the hands (raf‘ al-yadayn), saying amin aloud and the like — that in all these issues, except recitation behind the imam, the disagreement is only about what is preferable and not preferable (awlawiyya).

Answer

Imam al-Jassas al-Razi ﵀, al-Sarakhsi ﵀ and others have regarded it as a disagreement only about preferability and have not regarded [raising the hands] as invalidating the prayer. This very transmission is the well-known (mashhur)
