Saying amin aloud behind the imam

Question

Should amin be said in a loud voice behind the imam or not?

Answer

Behind the imam, the followers (muqtadis) and the imam himself should say amin quietly: [ar]عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ ﵁ قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا قَرَأَ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ قَالَ: آمِينَ، وَأَخْفَى بِهَا صَوْتَهُ.
