Supplication after the Eid sermon

Question

The imam, instead of making du‘a immediately after the Eid prayer, makes the supplication after the sermon. What is the ruling on this?

Answer

There is no specific narration from the Prophet ﷺ indicating that supplication should be made specifically after the Eid prayer or after the Eid sermon. However, supplication after prayer in general is established by many hadiths. Additionally, works such as “Hisn al-Hasin” mention this time among the times when supplications are accepted.
