Takbir al-Tashriq when returning from the Eidgah

Question

The takbir al-tashriq that is recited on the two Eids — is the ruling to recite it from home to the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer), or is the ruling to recite it on the way back as well?

Answer

The takbir is recited while going to the Eidgah, and it is not recited on the way back: [ar]وَيُكَبِّرُ فِي حَالِ خُرُوجِهِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى جَهْرًا، فَإِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى يَتْرُكُ[/ar] “He recites the takbir aloud while going out to the place of prayer (musalla), and when he reaches the musalla he stops” (al-Bahr al-Ra’iq).
