The Eid al-Fitr khutba without takbir

Question

This year the imam of our mosque delivered the Eid al-Fitr khutba and did not say the takbir in it even once. The said imam says that the khutba is valid even without saying the takbir, and thus saying the takbir on Eid al-Fitr is not at all necessary. What is the correct ruling on this according to the Shari‘a? Please inform us.

Answer

The khutba is, indeed, valid this way as well.
