Must an Eidgah be a waqf?

Question

(1) Is being a waqf a condition for Eidgahs (open grounds for the Eid prayer), or is the owner’s permission alone sufficient? In any case, the Eid prayers have been performed [here] year after year — [at a place] that was built for this very purpose. Is written proof and evidence of the waqf or of general permission (idhn 'amm) required for it or not? (2)

Answer

(1) That [the place] has been made a waqf for the Eid prayer and that people perform the prayer there — this alone is sufficient; written proof is not required. (2) There is no adhan or iqama for the Eid prayer.
