The Eid prayer on a ground endowed by a Zoroastrian
Question
Navsari is a small town with several mosques, including a Jami' mosque; there is no Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) here. Previously the Eid prayer was performed in the Jami' mosque; now some people, having heard of the merit of praying at an Eidgah, have been striving for an Eidgah. It is difficult to find a place in the town. There is a ground which a certain Zoroastrian (majusi) endowed as a waqf for sports and recreation; it is under the control of the municipality.
Answer
It is mandub and mustahabb that the Eid prayer be performed in an open field outside the settlement. Performing it on this ground is permitted, even though the Zoroastrian endowed it for sports and recreation, and performing it there is better: for the Eid prayer an open field is preferred over a mosque.
