How Far from the Town Should the Eid Prayer Be Held?

Question

At what distance from the mosque should the Eidgah (open ground for the Eid prayer) be? Please answer in the light of the Qur’an and hadith and give us the opportunity to thank you.

Answer

The Shari‘a has not fixed any distance for this; the only point is that performing the Eid prayer outside the settlement is mandub and mustahabb, as is stated explicitly in “Maraqi al-Falah”.
