Putting lime and water into the grave of a leper
Question
When a person dies of the disease of leprosy (judham), fifty kilograms of lime and forty pitchers of water are put into his grave. What is the Shar‘i ruling on this?
Answer
This method has not been prescribed by the Shari‘a — someone invented it himself. This method is wrong and contrary to the sunna; abandoning it is necessary (lazim).
