Men's Recordings for Women and Women's Recordings for Men
Question
Is it permissible for women who observe hijab from non-mahram men to listen to na‘t and hamd (poems in praise of the Prophet ﷺ and of Allah) recorded on tape or broadcast on the radio by a non-mahram man, or not? Are such women sinful or not?
Answer
If a broadcast on the radio consists of necessary [religious] matters, it is permissible for women to listen to it. A man's voice is not forbidden for women [to hear]. Men should not listen to recordings of women's [voices]. And no one should listen to anyone's singing.
