A Woman as Radio Announcer

Question

What is the ruling regarding a woman working as an announcer on the radio?

Answer

For women to let their voice reach non-mahram men without a legitimate Sharia need — even if this happens by means of the radio — is a cause of tribulation (fitna). Hazrat Imam Malik ﵀ has also declared a woman's voice to be ‘awra (something to be concealed).
