Preaching by Loudspeaker Without Listeners Present

Question

Among us, a certain imam, after the Fajr adhan and before the prayer, sits in his own room and delivers a sermon over the loudspeaker, while the listeners are not physically present before him. Likewise, sometimes after ‘Isha’ as well, people continue listening, each from his own home or wherever he happens to be.

Answer

This manner of preaching is unbefitting: it shows no respect either for the sermon or for the preacher, nor do the benefits of preaching and admonition — which ought to arise from the connection of the listeners' hearts with the preacher's heart — come about.
