Preaching on the Radio

Question

What is the ruling of the Sacred Law regarding preaching on the radio? Please clarify — may you be rewarded.

Answer

Since the purpose of preaching is merely proclamation and making [people] understand, if those far away cannot hear, this purpose will be lost. Therefore, for their sake, any adaptation — for instance, leaving the Arabic language in favour of the language of those present, or raising the voice by means of a loudspeaker — will not be a cause of dislike (karahat).
