The Ruling on Money Left Over After Hajj Badal

Question

The respected Sayyid Mubarak sent ‘Abd al-Hafiz for Hajj badal on behalf of his mother. At the time of departure his son, Sayyid Wasim, gave two hundred rupees so that he would bring back goods for him. As per the written request, ‘Abd al-Hafiz brought some goods and gave them to Wasim al-Haqq, and after settling the account returned the remaining sum; moreover, he also gave the full account of the Hajj to his father, the respected Sayyid Mubarak Husayn.

Answer

If something remained with ‘Abd al-Hafiz after covering the travel expenses and it is in the form of Arabian riyals, he should return exactly those; if he had made them into Indian notes (?), he should return those; if notes of the government rate remained, he should return those.
