Money for Hajj badal: give it to the proxy or keep it oneself

Question

A man is himself going to perform Hajj and is taking two persons with him to perform Hajj badal (proxy Hajj) on behalf of his parents. Would it be better to give the money for expenses to the proxies, or to keep it with himself and spend it on their needs? Moreover, keeping account of every single item with them would then be difficult.

Answer

If there is confidence that they will keep the money safely and will not spend it on improper things, and that the purpose of the bequest will not be lost either, then it is better to give it to them.
