Women obtaining amulets from a practitioner of incantations and having soothsayers perform incantation

Question

Question: Is it valid according to the Shari‘a for women to go to those who make amulets, and also to soothsayers (kahins), and have incantation performed on them?

Answer

One should keep away from non-mahrams. As for going to a soothsayer (kahin) and asking him about hidden matters, that is even more dangerous. If an amulet or the like is needed, let them obtain it from the practitioner of incantations through their husband or some mahram — father, brother and so on.
