Having a non-Muslim treat spirit possession
Question
Question: A man had a person afflicted by spirit possession treated by a non-Muslim, and afterwards he wants to make amends for it. Will he be forgiven before Allah by seeking forgiveness (istighfar), or is there some other way?
Answer
If he had the treatment done by mistake, let him repent (tawba) and seek forgiveness. But if that man does not treat by means of words of kufr and shirk, rather treats in a permissible way, there is no harm in it, just as bodily treatment by a non-Muslim doctor or physician is valid.
