Coat and trousers

Question

Question: Does that hadith now apply to those who wear a coat and trousers and keep their hair in the English style — the hadith whose meaning is that whoever adopts the likeness of a people will be resurrected with that people?

Answer

Now there is not that much severity in this. This much is certain, however, that in these parts this is not the dress of the righteous; one should avoid it — it is at the level of dislike (karaha).
