Having trousers made for one’s children

Question

Question: Respected sir, I am caught in a difficulty. The difficulty is that my son wants to have trousers made, and I am opposed to boys having trousers made. Just tell me what the ruling is according to the Qur’an and hadith.

Answer

Since you do not like trousers, you are not obliged to fulfil your son’s request; rather, after making him understand, have made for him the clothing that in your view is approved by the Shari‘a.
