Wearing trousers during office hours

Question

Question: A Muslim is employed in a government office. When he goes to the office he goes wearing trousers and the like, and on returning he takes them off. Is it permissible to wear them during office hours?

Answer

If trousers are not the specific distinctive mark (shi‘ar) of the kafirs or the fasiqs there, then wearing them is permissible.
