A kurta with sleeves above the elbow; the usual dress of the Prophet ﷺ

Question

Question: Nowadays some of our Muslim brothers wear clothing that is above the elbows, and they walk about in the middle of the bazaar with their heads uncovered by a cap or a cloth; and some wear clothing that is contrary to the dress of the righteous (sulaha’) of this time. How is it in the view of the Shari‘a to wear such clothing? What was the dress of the Master of both worlds ﷺ like, and what was the dress of his Companions like? Kindly explain.

Answer
