The sleeves of the kurta
Question
Question: Some people have the sleeves of the kurta (a long loose shirt) sewn long and then, when putting it on, wear them lengthened. Is this contrary to what is best or not? If it is, then why?
Answer
This manner of sleeves is also a common custom of the Arabs. One blessed kurta was also short-sleeved (“qasir al-kummayn”), the detail of which in Injah al-Hajah is “up to the wrists” (“ila al-rusghayn”).
