An invitation funded by income from pledged property

Question

Question: If a person holds all the land in pledge (rahn) and that person consumes the proceeds of that land, is it permissible to accept that person’s invitation and to take money and clothes (from him), or not?

Answer

If he gives from the income of the pledge, it is impermissible to take it; if he gives from permissible income, it is right to take it.
