Accepting an invitation from mixed haram and halal wealth

Question

Question: If half of a person’s wealth is halal and half is haram, is it permissible to accept his invitation or not?

Answer

Such an invitation should be avoided. Editor’s note: there is latitude in the case where most of the wealth is from halal income; but when half is halal and half is haram, then most of the wealth is not from halal income, and therefore it is to be avoided.
