Are the Qadianis and Others Who Recite the Kalima Muslims?
Question
A certain person says: however many sects there are among the Muslims — be they Qadianis or Shi‘a — all of them recite the kalima (the testimony of faith), all of them are people of the qibla, all of them are Muslims. Is this statement correct?
Answer
Sects that go against the tenets of belief (‘aqa’id), fiqh and the definitive texts (nusus qat‘iyya) are outside Islam; merely by reciting the kalima or performing the prayer they do not become people of the qibla (ahl al-qibla) and Muslims. Thus it is stated in Ikfar al-Mulhidin (إكفار الملحدين).
