The Funeral Prayer over a Qadiani
Question
The daughter of a Qadiani man died. Neither he nor his father performed the funeral prayer of the daughter and granddaughter; the imam and the followers were of the Ahl al-Sunna wa al-Jama‘a. Should the Ahl al-Sunna wa al-Jama‘a perform the funeral prayer of the children or the wife of [a man of] the Qadiani religion, or not? If not, will any punishment of the Sacred Law be imposed on those who performed the prayer out of consideration for the biradari (a kinship or caste community), or not?
Answer
The Qadianis are not Muslims but kafirs. The funeral prayer is performed for a Muslim; the funeral prayer is not performed for a kafir. The funeral prayer for one who is known to be a Qadiani is not valid. If his wife is a Muslim, then the prayer for her and the prayer for his minor child are valid, because minor children follow the better of the two parents [in religion].
