After land is sold and the price paid, lack of registration gives no right to revoke the sale

Question

Question: ʿAbd al-Hamid Khan made a deal with Muhammad ʿAshiq for a piece of land for four and a half rupees. That land belonged to his wife; he made this transaction in his capacity as husband. The money was paid to Muhammad ʿAshiq Khan in the mosque in front of the worshippers, and possession of the land was taken. ʿAbd al-Hamid Khan kept asking him to have it formally registered, but he said: “We will do it; we are not taking it back from you.

Answer

When the sale transaction of the land has been completed, the price has also been paid, and the buyer has also taken possession of the land, then merely because of the absence of registration no deficiency remains in the transaction. Further, the seller has no right left to snatch the land back. By this act of his the seller is a usurper (ghasib) and a wrongdoer.
