The Respected Bara Pir and Shams Tabrez Raised the Dead

Question

Is it correct that the respected Bara Pir (an epithet of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir Jilani) and Shams Tabrez raised the dead? Are such karamat established from the pious elders?

Answer

I have not seen in any reliable book that the respected Bara Pir and Hazrat Shams Tabrez raised the dead. Allah the Pure granted this mu‘jiza (miracle) to Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇; and if He brought some dead person to life through someone else as well, that is not beyond the power of Allah the Exalted — but no person can by himself bring any dead person to life.
