Inspiration of the Meanings of the Qur’an

Question

Is it permissible or not for Allah the Exalted to manifest again, by way of emphasis, to some pious Muslim elder, through ilham (inspiration) or kashf (unveiling), some command or prohibition already stated in the Noble Qur’an?

Answer

The Noble Qur’an was revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. That its ma‘arif (deep meanings) be unveiled to the heart of some pious elder without his having studied under a teacher is possible even today — indeed, it does occur.
