Hazrat Khwaja Ajmeri Drying Up the Pond

Question

Once Hazrat Khwaja Mu‘in al-Din Chishti ﵀ was seated with a few of his disciples on the bank of a large pond, Ana Sagar. The Muslims of that place used the water of this pond for their animals and their essential needs. This act of the Muslims was displeasing to the polytheists of Ajmer; they prevented the Muslims from using this water and began to oppress them. The respected Hazrat Khwaja gave one of his disciples a water-jug and commanded: “Go and, reciting Bismillah, fill this jug from Ana Sagar.
