Supernatural Feats from One Not Bound by the Shari‘a

Question

Is it permissible to gather a crowd in a manner that has never existed and for which there is no proof from the earliest generations (qurun ula)? And this is a person who is not bound by the Shari‘a, whose appearance is contrary to the Sunna, and who has no knowledge of religion at all; yet he has begun to gather people in this manner and to blow (dam) upon them, whereby the beliefs of many Muslims are also being corrupted; moreover, it is not even ascertained what he recites.

Answer

To recite a supplication from the Noble Word of Allah and from the pure hadith and to blow (dam) for the removal of illness and for protection is correct according to the Shari‘a and established from the earliest generations; Allah the Exalted has placed an effect in it too. However, as to acceptance in the court of the Lord Most High, nothing is known here with certainty.
