A Belief Concerning Hazrat Dawud
Question
A certain person holds the following belief concerning Hazrat Dawud ﵇: that the trial of Hazrat Dawud ﵇ in fact consisted in this, that he had set aside one day for worship in such a way that on that day he became detached from creation; such seclusion and severing of ties on the part of an ascetic Sufi may be called praiseworthy, but for the caliph of the age and the political leader of the Muslims, seclusion — and that for a whole day — can in no way be called appropriate.
Answer
If the person who holds this belief is alive, let him be asked about it himself; if he is not alive, then the book in which he wrote down this belief of his should be sent here, or else write the name of the book, the press and the page, so that the answer may be written after looking at it.
