Reproaching the Brothers of Hazrat Yusuf

Question

What is the ruling on reproaching the brothers of Hazrat Yusuf ﵇?

Answer

Their repentance (tawba) is established by a definitive text (nass qat‘i). And after repentance it is not permissible to shame or reproach anyone on account of a past error — all the more so when a whole group (of scholars) even holds that they were prophets.
