The Limits of Teaching in a Mosque
Question
A certain man, a graduate of Deoband, runs a hifz madrasa (for memorizing the Qur’an) together with a boarding house. For the madrasa and the boarding house the villagers have given the space above a mosque (in the compound), but because of the large number of students it is insufficient.
Answer
If there is no place for the Noble Qur’an and religious instruction, then there is room for teaching in the mosque, but respect for the mosque is necessary: nothing contrary to the respect of the mosque should be done there. The times of the prayers are fixed, and those times are not for teaching.
