Building a Madrasa Behind the Mosque

Question

What is the ruling on building a religious madrasa when the site is behind the mosque? May a madrasa be built on it or not?

Answer

It is very necessary that there be a religious madrasa in every settlement. Building a madrasa behind the mosque with the owner’s permission is entirely permissible; it causes no harm either to the prayer or to the madrasa.
