Allotting one share for a boy in the aqiqa
Question
Question: Zayd wishes to perform the aqiqa for his children, among whom are two sons and one daughter. Can one buffalo suffice for these children? Or is it necessary to allot two shares on behalf of each son, and then his aqiqa will not take place?
Answer
In one narration the aqiqa of one male goat on behalf of a boy has been declared sufficient. Even if there is one share each on behalf of the sons and (one) on behalf of the daughter, and one buffalo is slaughtered for this purpose, its aqiqa will still take place.
