Aqiqa in a sacrificial cow and silver by the weight of a grown child’s hair

Question

Question: Is aqiqa together with a sacrificial cow correct or not? If it is, then one sacrifice and the aqiqa of six boys and one girl in one cow? And there is the command to give in sadaqa silver equal to the weight of the hair of the child for whom aqiqa is performed — but now he has grown up; what is the ruling regarding his hair?

Answer

Aqiqa is also correct in a sacrificial cow: one person’s share may be for the sacrifice and another’s for the aqiqa, but the shares must not exceed seven. When the child is seven days old, aqiqa is mustahabb: the hair of the head is to be shaved and silver or gold equal to it in weight given in charity.
