Aqiqa together with the sacrifice

Question

Question: What is the ruling on performing aqiqa in a sacrificial animal? That is, if the sacrificial animal is, for example, a cow, and five of its shares are for the sacrifice, while the two remaining shares are counted as aqiqa — is this permissible or not? If it is permissible, when should the dua of aqiqa be recited, and how should the meat of the aqiqa share be distributed? Please write in detail.

Answer

It is permissible. The dua that is recited at the aqiqa should be recited at the time of slaughter, when he recites the dua of the sacrifice; and he should divide the meat into three parts and act as with the meat of the udhiya: either distribute the raw meat, or cook it and hold a feast.
