The day of the aqiqa

Question

Question: How many days after the birth of a child is the aqiqa sunna? If the raw meat is distributed, will the aqiqa be done, or should a meal be cooked from it and served? And who may take part in the meal?

Answer

The aqiqa should be performed on the seventh day after the birth of the child.
