Partnership in the sacrifice of a goat
Question
Question: In the sacrifice, can a goat or a fat-tailed ram also be divided into seven shares or not? And can four or even six people (sacrifice) a large animal or not?
Answer
A goat, a fat-tailed ram or a sheep suffices only on behalf of one person; through partnership in it no one’s sacrifice will be valid. In a large animal — a cow, a buffalo, a camel — partnership is valid; seven people may share in it, and also in such a way that three people have two shares each and someone has one share; a share must not be less than one seventh.
