Hazrat Maria ﵂ Was a Slave-Girl of the Prophet ﷺ, Not a Wife

Question

Someone has heard that Hazrat Ibrahim ﵁ was born to Hazrat Maria al-Qibtiyya ﵂ from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, but that no marriage (nikah) had taken place between the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Hazrat Maria al-Qibtiyya ﵂. Is this correct?

Answer

Answer (1) There is no doubt that Hazrat Ibrahim ﵁ was born of Hazrat Maria al-Qibtiyya ﵂ in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, 8 AH, and passed away sixteen or eighteen months later, and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi‘.
