The Word “Ilchi” for the Prophet

Question

A certain person calls Ahmad al-Mujtaba Muhammad al-Mustafa ﷺ an “ilchi” (envoy). Kindly give an answer regarding this from hadith and fiqh.

Answer

“Ilchi” means a courier, a messenger, one who conveys a message. The noble Prophet ﷺ, the pride of the two worlds, came to convey the message of Allah — Blessed and Exalted is He — to His creation; in earlier books this word is mentioned precisely in this sense. It is a Turkish word.
