Taking Sweets from a Non-Muslim and Having Him Wash One's Clothes

Question

Is prayer valid in clothes washed at a Hindu washerman's or not? And should one eat sweets and the like from a Hindu or not?

Answer

If in no place is there certainty or a predominant supposition (zann ghalib) of impurity, then the sweets and the clothes are pure and the prayer will be valid. Nevertheless, it is better to have one's clothes washed by a Muslim and to take sweets from a Muslim.
