The Ruling on the Body and Clothing of Those Who Purify an Impure Well

Question

When an impure well is being purified, the buckets with which water is drawn from the well and the ropes of the buckets, together with the people pulling the water, become pure at the same time [along with the well]. But what is the ruling on the clothing and body of the men pulling the water?

Answer

The hands, buckets and rope with which the water was drawn are, because of the repeated drawing of water, regarded as following the well, and all of them are called pure. But as for whatever part of the clothing and body the drops of impure water fell on — there is no basis for calling that garment and that part of the body pure: they do not follow the well.
