Does Impure Clothing Become Pure by Holding It Under a Tap?

Question

A certain garment of a person is impure because of invisible najasa (ghayr mar'iyya). He poured four or five jugs of water over it, or left it under a tap for a few minutes, until he became certain that the najasa had been removed; then he wrung it out in the ordinary way. Has it become pure or not?
