The Method of Purifying Impure Clothing
Question
Whether the najasa on a garment is visible or invisible (mar'iyya or ghayr mar'iyya), the garment is placed on such a spot or on a stone that the water keeps running off; taking a water jug or the like in the right hand, one keeps pouring water on the garment and rubbing it with the left hand. When a predominant supposition or certainty is reached that the najasa has been removed, the garment is lifted and wrung out once — not wrung three times. Has the garment become pure or not?
Answer
If water was poured continuously and the garment was rubbed with one hand until a predominant supposition (zann ghalib) was reached that the najasa had been removed, and then, after pouring water, it was wrung out, then in this case too the garment has become pure, and the hands have become pure as well.
