How Can One Born of an Impure Drop (Nutfa) Become Pure?

Question

A certain man says: since the very existence of a human being is from a nutfa (drop of semen), how will he become pure through ghusl and wudu?

Answer

The essence of the impure drop was transformed: it was made the noblest of creatures (ashraf al-makhluqat). Now, if he becomes impure, the way of purifying him has been shown: [ar]إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَٱغْسِلُوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ[/ar] “When you rise for the prayer, wash your faces…” (Surah al-Ma'ida, 5:6)
