Using One Clod Twice

Question

What is [the ruling on] using one clod of earth a second time?

Answer

A clod with which istinja' has been performed once has become impure; using it a second time is prohibited. However, if its other side has not been used, then using it [with that side] is permissible. Likewise, it is permissible to use it after rubbing it so that the impure part is rubbed away.
