Istinja' with Small Clods

Question

A person is unable to attain the purity of istinja' with water, and performs it with clods of earth. Sometimes the clods are small, that is, [the area] dries on every side but moisture remains at the edge; the second clod is also small, and he dries the moisture at the edge with this small clod. Is this proper? That is, can the purity of one istinja' be attained with two small clods?

Answer

If the moisture on the organ is not completely dried by one clod, but some remains at the edge, and that remainder is dried with another clod, then this is proper.
