Going onto the Prayer Mat with Moisture on the Limbs of Wudu, and the Water of the Prophet's ﷺ Ablution

Question

What is the ruling on going onto the prayer mat with the water that remains on the limbs of wudu after performing wudu? This while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would perform wudu and the noble Companions ﵃ would take that water and rub it on their faces.

Answer

The trace of water that remains on the limbs of wudu is neither used water (ma' musta'mal) nor impure; going onto the prayer mat with it is, without doubt, correct. [ar]فَمَا دَامَ عَلَى العضو لا يصير مستعملاً[/ar] “So long as it remains on the limb, it does not become used” (al-Bahr [al-Ra'iq], vol. 1, p. 93). Caution (tanbih)
